POSITION SUMMARY:
As the Food Safety and Quality Assurance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our products meet the highest safety, quality, compliance standards. You will be responsible for developing , implementing and managing food safety and quality programs to meet and exceed SQF compliance standards. You will oversee quality control, regulatory compliance and continuous improvement initiatives to maintain our commitment to delivering safe, high-quality food products.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and implement Food Safety and Quality Programs:
Design, implement, and manage comprehensive food safety and quality assurance programs in line with SQF compliance standards.
Ensure that processes and procedures adhere to relevant regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
Quality Control Oversight:
Supervise and lead quality control team, ensuring all products meet established quality standards throughout the production process.
Implement and manage quality control measures, including product inspections, testing, protocols and documentation.
Regulatory Compliance
Stay abreast of changes in food safety regulations and industry standards and update company policies and procedures accordingly.
Interface with regulatory agencies as needed ensuring compliance with local, state and federal regulations.
Continuous Improvement Initiatives:
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce waste and optimize production processes while maintaining quality standards
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions and preventive measures.
Training and Development:
Provide training to employees on food safety and quality assurance procedures, ensuring a culture of awareness and compliance.
Foster a strong quality mindset throughout the organization.
QUALICATIONS:
Educational Background:
Bachelors degree in Food Science, Microbiology or related field. Advanced degrees and relevant certifications (e.g. SQF Practitioner are a plus)
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years experience in food safety and quality assurance management.
Proven track record of successfully implementing and managing SQF and similar GFSI programs.
Skills:
Strong understanding of Food Safety regulations, HACCP principles and quality control methodologies.
Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
Detail-oriented with a focus on continuous improvement.
Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams.
Team Management:
Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a diverse team of quality professionals
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Frequent carrying, bending, standing, sitting and repetitive motion
Occasionally need to lift and or move up to 25 pounds with a potential of up to 50 pounds. Seek assistance if necessary.
