JOB DESCRIPTION:
Quality Manager
Location: Dover, PA
Industry: Food Industry
Shift: 7am-5pm
This position provides Quality Assurance, Food Safety, and Regulatory leadership to the company and facility by ensuring quality systems are developed, communicated, implemented, and sustained.
Responsibilities and Duties:
· Develop, implement and sustain the quality and food safety systems in the facility
· Manage, implement all aspects of Quality Control within the facility.
· Develop, implement and sustain quality processes for all incoming raw materials, work in process, finished goods, environmental and sanitation programs
· Leads the facility initiative in obtaining a GMP certification (AIB) and SQF Level 3 Certification
· Acts as the facility food safety leader and Food Safety/HACCP team leader
· Schedules and conducts internal audits of the Quality and Food Safety systems in the facility
· Maintains, verifies, and archives all production and food safety-related data as required by SQF audit, Food Safety/HACCP, and local/state/federal regulatory agencies
· Maintains records from suppliers assuring their compliance with specifications and guidelines
· Maintains and updates the recall program, acting as the recall team leader for the facility
· Responsible for ensuring all employees have trained adequately on food safety, GMP's, quality assurance concepts, HACCP, policies, and procedures
· Leads and participates in all facility audits, including SQF, GMP, customer audits, local, state, and federal regulatory agencies
· Develop team to cover future 3 shift operation-direct manager for QA technicians, QA Supervisor, and sanitation supervisor
· Investigates and facilitates customer complaint process as well as the implementation of corrective actions for continuous improvement
· Reviews HACCP/Food safety plan when new ingredients, packaging, and finished goods are introduced to the facility. Ensure all risks are identified and reviewed by the food safety/HACCP team
· Responsible for overseeing and ensuring adherence to finished product specifications. Notifies and gives guidance to management and operational personnel regarding out of specification products
· Responsible for overseeing the non-conforming product program in the facility
· Maintenance of Kosher program for the facility
· Employ Quality management systems, TPM, and Continuous improvement to place quality at the heart of the organization
Qualifications and Skills
· Excellent knowledge of food manufacturing processes
· Solid understanding of food safety
· Experience in setting up HACCP, GMP's, SOP's and other food safety and quality assurance systems
Requirements:
· SQF and BRC Practitioner
· HACCP Certified
· BS in Food Science or related field
· Minimum 5+ years Quality Assurance Management experience in the food industry required
